All children deserve a safe, respectful, and supportive environment, particularly those who may be at greater risk of harm due to discrimination, bias, or marginalisation.
This session considers how equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) considerations connect to building a safeguarding culture by ensuring all children are visible, heard and protected.
Using scenarios, the course considers how children from marginalised or minority groups may face additional or hidden risks such as racism, ableism, homophobia, or cultural stigma.
Without an EDI-informed approach, signs of abuse may be missed which may result in a failed opportunity to provide appropriate support.
