Statutory PREVENT Training

PREVENT Awareness Training: Interactive staff awareness course designed to raise understanding of the statutory responsibility for the Prevent duty within education.

Description

Since July 2015 all schools and early years providers have been subject to a duty under section 26 of the Counter-terrorism and Security Act, to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism – this is known as the Prevent Duty.

The statutory duty explains the importance of Prevent awareness training to equip staff to identify children at risk of being drawn into terrorism and to challenge extremist ideas.

This 2-hour course is updated to include The Shawcross Review, latest guidance, and considers how radicalisation and extremism within society can cause harm.   All learning styles are engaged through embedded videos and scenario-based workshops that promote interaction and discussion, to provide learners with the confidence to support the children in their care and contribute effectively to creating a safe and effective whole school safeguarding culture.

Available for onsite and virtual delivery.
